the version is the latest (1.3.0.45c). I try to make a back bet of 0.5 euro cent and it is canceled. if I change the stake to 2 euro it's all right. I bet on the favorite therefore the odds do not go beyond 5 on average they will be around 3.1.

I am aware that backing at odds 1.01 for below minimum stake does not work and am investigating so it's really important you tell me which odds you are requesting. I don't think the stake is the issue.

May I request that anyone reporting an issue with this fix tell me the odds AND stake they are requesting. I cannot investigate if I only know the odds or stake. It is the combination of these two values that is important.

I get it. I had entered a value of 1.01. now I have entered 1.10 and the problem has been solved.

Thanks. It seems the main issue is backing at 1.01 which I am looking into. Unfortunately I had not noticed this yesterday so did not include a fix in this release.

You can see what works by changing the odds manually when requesting a bet. So this will fail but using a stake of 0.1 will be accepted. Payout after rounding has to be above a certain threshold.

Looks like I should have used the same solution for back bets. I will see what I can do.

What seems to be the issue guys, can someone please explain in more detail? I am open to testing things out if that will help and get it fixed for others.

Have been actively trading yesterday but didn't notice anything strange, my account currency is in Euros and I'm still using the 1.3.0.44a version of Gruss BA without applying last night's fix.

Hi,

It's all do with an unscheduled API update that Betfair did yesterday.
See https://forum.developer.betfair.com/forum/developer-program/announcements/32066-retrospective-api-release-to-prevent-minimum-bet-abuse-19th-june

It only affects bets being requested that are below minimum stakes.
If you don't require such bets then you won't see a problem.

The point is Betfair did not give us any notification that they were making this change nor have they provided any documentation.

But we believe we have now identified a workaround which has been applied to the new release.

Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark and Gary,

Just wanted to say thanks for the update which is working for me.

I should also add that the update to fix the black rectangle showing on parts of the screen is so far working as well for me.

Cheers

Thanks for the quick turnaround on the fix guys. Really poor from Betfair. Do we have any idea on what criteria they are using for rejecting bets?
I lay plenty of bets with a stake at below min and had no issues yesterday as far as i can see. All my lay bets do have a liability greater than min though.

I've included a workaround for backing at 1.01 issue. See viewtopic.php?f=9&t=10623

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
