Update from TPD regarding RMG courses

Postby GaryRussell » Tue Jul 15, 2025 9:27 am

The following is the official communication which we are distributing to the various stake holders;

“From Tuesday the 15 July, TPD will resume the live transmission of GPS data from the UK racecourses broadcast by RacingTV. These are the Jockey Club racecourses plus Goodwood, York and other UK courses in this list https://www.racingtv.com/racecourses i.e. the courses administered by Racing Media Group (RMG).

It remains the case that the underlying GPS hardware used on the Sky Sports Racing tracks (Arena Racing Company courses) is fundamentally different to that used on the RacingTV racecourses.

TPD do what can be done to distribute matching data, but there are limits as to what can be done with the source data being delivered live to the various platforms. Both systems are constantly evolving and TPD will provide the best possible content the moment it becomes available.”

The bottom line being that the RMG feed continues to be flawed and the data is to be treated with extreme caution. A number of our customers have asked for the data to be switched back on as something is better than nothing and they state that elements of the data (not sure which elements) are useful to them. So from tomorrow all UK courses will be covered by TPD – we are updating our Forum and other communication channels with the health warning and hopefully all your subscribers will be aware of the situation.

Also, to make life easier, our Status page; https://www.tpd.zone/status will have a comment alongside all races in which the data is to be treated with caution.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
