How do you turn auto updates off completely

Postby bolpx001 » Sun Jun 15, 2008 4:58 pm

Hi
I use two computers with Gary's excellent software; one is a laptop (XP) which only runs BA. It is programmed to run almost continuously and reboots once a day. The other is a desktop (windows 2000) which is used to develop macros, systems and scripts. The issue I have is that the laptop is fine and totally ignores any updates, the desktop however wants to update once a new version is available. This is causing my autohotkey scripts to fail. I have tried to use autohotkey to kill off the update prompt to no avail. I have also tried to stop the service from starting. Nothing seems to work. I am quite happy to update manually when necessary. This is a major problem for me as the computers are programmed to run when I am at work.
best regards and thanks

Paul

I figured out a way to do it, I renamed AUClient.exe and created a dummy one that did nothing
best regards

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
