A couple of questions here...

Postby MetallicIan » Mon Dec 15, 2008 10:18 pm

Hi there,
Not sure if anyone else has experienced the same problem, but my main question concerns

triggered bets that are not being placed as expected...

I was watching my trigger spreadsheet "live" when there was a bet due to be placed.
Although all the criteria were met and I saw the word "BACK" triggered into the trigger cell,

the bet didn't actually get placed!
The only thing I thought that could have interfered with the placement of this bet was the fact

that the word "CANCELLED" was still remaining in the bet reference cell on the same row of my

spreadsheet from a previous races matched bet; the sheet had been updated with the new horses

for the new race but references and times of previous bets are not cleared off the sheet.

Or could it be something else I have overlooked??

Also...
For triggered betting, with regards to speed of refreshing and/or bet placement, would there be

any advantage in running two instances of BA from one PC as opposed to running one BA with two

pages pointing at the same spreadsheet.

Any help would really be appreciated.

Ian.

Should the Bet Refs automatically clear when the auto select loads the next market ?

When you click on Excel in Betting Assistant

Have you got the box "Clear Bet refs on auto select market" ticked?

As orange says that option should be ticked. Having something still in the bet reference is definitely the cause of your problems.

There would be no speed advantage in having two instances of BA running. I recommend you avoid it where you can to avoid the possibility of incurring data request charges. If you do have to run more than one instance please make sure the request throttling is set so they add up to 20, eg. 2 instances should both be set to 10 requests per second.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
