Is this possible?

Postby jonn » Tue Jun 09, 2009 8:16 pm

Hi,

I am wondering if this is possible to set up automatically?

Continuously search through the days races scanning for races where there are 3 or more horses within a max set range (i.e 1.5) of each other in the top 3.

Then 1 minute before off lay the favourite at that time for a set amount.

Also be able to set a max lay odds too.

if possible put a in running back of a set figure to lay off profits?

Looks easy enough to do with excel triggered betting - don't see any need to continuously search the markets though if you're going to place the bet 1 min from the off. Just set the prog to auto select the market 1 min before the off and have the excel sheet kick off the bet if the criteria is met. Plenty of excel options to fire off offest bets you can keep in running once the bet is part or all matched

so it would just look at the next race on an on going basis? So all races throughout the day get checked? wow, didn't think that would be possible!

Also could i set an odds minumum of the favourite too?

thanks for your help so far guys

john

what you seek to do would be fairly simple with some vba

You would need ba set to open each market at 1 min before the off
and then your vba code to look and lay if required.

I suggest you download the example spreadsheets from the help file and try to follow the code in them then I may be able to help further as I have an old Workbook which did pretty much what you seek.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
