Missing money!

Postby davenormy » Fri Jun 19, 2009 7:27 pm

I have noticed on the Gruss interface that money is missing that appears on the Betfair interface. I trade low liquidity Rugby markets and in running this causes me some issues. I have attached a photoshot of tonight market pre game where liquidity is very low and it's clear looking at both back and lay money is missing. When the game goes in play (and a lot more liquidity) I've noticed significant amounts missing all together on either side.

Any ideas for this?

Thanks in advance.

Betfair have changed the way liquidity appears on the website but not on the API, see here http://forum.bdp.betfair.com/showthread.php?t=330

Could that be the cause?

Yes, that will be the reason. Betting Assistant is only displaying the data as provided by the API. You will see it's not an issue with Betting Assistant if you compare it with one of our competitor's products. I understand Betfair are looking at making the same data available through the API, but I don't yet know when it will be available.

Thanks it sounds like that is the reason. From what I can see it won't put me at a disadvantage trading in play through the API. I will read through it and try and digest it.

Cheers.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
