Backing the current score in-play at a certain time?

Postby stichel » Tue Sep 22, 2009 1:48 pm

Hi,
could someone please help me with this:
I want to back the current score in-play in soccer matches at a certain time (e.g. at the 70 min. mark). Could this be automated with the software?
Thanks for your help in advance

I don't believe it can be done with the software itself as the conditional betting doesn't allow for timed bets (or at least I don't think it did last time I looked). You could do it with an excel sheet connected to B.A. or at least get close.

The other problem is to find out the current score. You would need to take this information from other websites. Be careful: The score displayed is occasionally wrong.

I personally think your task is not ideal for automation. It's probably easier to set an alarm clock to the 69th minute, look on maybe 2 score pages and make the bet manually.

I did something where i needed excel to know the current score a while back and it's not too hard to get excel to work it out by looking at the odds for all the scores.
If you are wanting to bet at a specific time in the second half then you have a slight problem. Yes you can implement a timer from when the game goes in play but not from when the second half goes in play. So if there was a period of first half injury time then the players were a couple of minutes late coming out for the second half you could find your bet going in 5,6 or 7 minutes out of time.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
