Load specific race from excel

Postby alrodopial » Wed Dec 09, 2009 8:55 am

Is it possible to load a specific market from excel using a way, let's say trigger in Q2?
for example today's 14:40 at Leicester?
And i mean load this market without having to move from the first race in quick pick list to the last ,one by one and find the market i want using formulas but going directly to the one i want?
If it is not possible how about a new trigger in Q2, something like this:
-5-raceid
where -5 is whatever you want Garry and raceid is the market's id.
If i remember correctly there is a fuction 'getraceid' or something like this for extracting current race's id, is it right?
So in the morning you can load in the quick list the markets you want (all?), move into next market using -1 , extract the market id,store it somewhere in the sheet and later on load the market you want using this id.
Is it possible?

You can use GO:12345 in cell Q2 where 12345 is the market id which you can pick up from cell N3 when you first iterate through the markets with -1.

Win and place Market ID's

Postby tamrood2000 » Thu Dec 17, 2009 5:27 pm

Is there a rule that if you know the market id for the win race you can always work out the market id for the place race so I could use this load load in excel?

PlaceMarketID = WinMarketID + 1 ?

It does appear that they you can just add 1 to the win market id, but I asked Betfair about this and they advise it cannot be guaranteed that there will be any correlation between the win and place market id's in future.

You could use this method for the time being and include a check to make sure it has picked up the right market.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
