Conditional bets

Postby purple » Mon Sep 14, 2009 11:01 am

Hi

If for instance I set up a trade : initial lay India @ 1.80 then conditional bets are back @ 3.70 and stop @ 1.25. Will a triggered bet cancel the other?

Many thanks

Hi,

So can you clarify....you have set up 2 separate conditional bets, one to trade out and one to stop loss.

If this is the case then if one of them triggers the other will still be active unless you cancel it manually.

Regards,
Mark

Thanks

Would it be possible to set up an excel sheet that cancels the remaining bet, very simply for a newbie to excel?

It's possible in theory, but it's not a feature supported by conditional betting. It can be done with Excel triggered betting, but you will need to be proficient with Excel.

Why do want a bet cancellation triggered by another bet being matched, is the bet being cancelled some kind of stop loss?

exactly as in a excel worksheet, I could plan a strategy: for example, if the bet number 1 are matched, it could cancel the bet number 2 and it could maintain the number 3, and so on

To cancel a bet you need to use the CANCEL trigger and the bet reference you want to cancel needs to be in the bet reference column. You will need to use VBA code to record and track each bet as it is placed so that you can insert it into the bet ref column for cancellation. You can also use the MyBets sheet to track if previous bets have been matched. Please read the user guide on the help menu for details of the MyBets sheet.

If you cannot write the VBA code yourself then you could consider getting someone to write it for you. See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... php?t=1954

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
