Logging onto Betfair

Postby doris_day » Tue Aug 16, 2011 2:33 pm

Is anyone else taking much longer to log onto Betfair via BA in the last couple of days ?
Both my home and remote servers are taking much longer than normal today.

How are you getting on with Betdaq Dorian? I had a look few days ago at in running horses over there, but it looked very quiet (and unusable for me).

Thanks for the feedback mak. Seems to have righted itself

dejanuk, I've left Betdaq simply because I need better liquidity. I'm now doing a couple of other things too because the in-play liquidity on Betfair has really plummeted over the past couple of weeks and so I've had to look at other possibilities.

I'm also finally learning to code and have a great tutor in VB.net who I Skype with a few times a week and together we're building a new app. Its great fun and slowly but surely things are starting to make sense.

The app will also give me access to markets across the world which will open my horizons somewhat. I'm looking forward to the opening of the season in Hong Kong, where they have tote pools in the millions for almost every race. And even though clever buggers like Bill Benter are working them, my data shows that some are not as efficient as you'd imagine :)

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
