Any Feedback?

Postby mak » Fri Sep 09, 2011 4:14 pm

This is my worst week for the last few months.
I am not losing money but I don't win also

Really can't see any differences at the horse markets compared to last 2 months or so.

It is though like, the "demand" of i/r betting is somehow lower or something

I don't have any data, so i am asking if someone knows if there are any significant differences on how much money matched i/r -last 10-15 days, compared to August for example would be helpful

Any other users opinion or feedback are welcome too :)

Interesting ...

On the chart of my profits and losses I have a nice steady uptrend but on
August 29 there is a buckle and the performance since then ranges
between disappointing and horrible. What could have changed?

I think what you're finding are the results of what happens when markets go from low volatility to high volatility.
Your triggers are being fired more often now no doubt because of 'spiky' information, particularly in the lower than normal in-running market liquidity we have at the moment.
This is partially because of the recession and because of the poor customer service from Betfair as far as new PC is concerned and their greed with the cross matching skim engine they now employ.
In today's market it would actually be much better if Betdaq didn't exist because two exchanges with lower than acceptable liquidity is worse than one strong one.

This is what i was i afraid Doris, but pc2 haven't any effect at my triggers during 18 July - 30 August.

Someone could say that it is a small period for any conclusions and probably this is right.

I also believe that it is because now is is the time of the season where flat period ends and some players just watching for the moment.

Finally this last week, almost all flat races had many runners sometimes even 22! for a 5f race, so i/r should be high volatility i guess

Anyway, I would like to see any other opinions - feedback, and would be happy to hear that some users still winning and they don't find any differences..

Doris, I don't know if you have any data that proves it, I would really like to see if i/r liquidity is lower in the last few weeks

Things have been poor for me since PC2 started but August is a difficult month generally because the soccer season started and also there are many people away on holiday.
I must admit that I havent found the last few days any different to most of August, which, as I said, has been poor for a number of my original algos.
I've had to adapt, tweak a number of settings that worked in the past but now don't, and I've also written a few new algos which I'm testing.
The good thing for me is that I've found a couple that work OK on Betdaq and that aren't based on high liquidity or require low volatility and that's good because I'm on 1.25% commission with BD. And no PC1 or PC2 :)

As previously mentioned, I think liquidity is much more concentrated now compared to August, no more evening races and people are back from holidays.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
