Incorrect Refresh Rate When Using Excel ?

Postby dogform » Thu Jan 26, 2012 5:41 pm

Hi,

I have an excel workbook linked to Gruss but the refresh rate is not changing in accordance with the formula I am using in excel to change the refresh closer to the off time.

In cell Q2 which controls the refresh rate I have the formula:

=IF(S1>170,1,0.1)

Where S1 contains the long formula that works out the countdown to the off time in seconds.

The logic is to keep the refresh rate at 1 second until 2mins 50seconds before the off time then change the refresh rate to 0.1 seconds when there is less that 170 seconds to the off.

The refresh is just sitting stuck on 1 second in Gruss even though the value from excel is showing 0.1 seconds for the refresh rate. In Gruss I notice there is an "Auto" tick box nect to the refresh rate, what is this for, I have it ticked?

Any help most appreciated.

Hi,

Unticking the "Auto" box will stop Betting Assistant from refreshing all together so you should keep it ticked.
Its for people who want to keep BA open but don't want it using any bandwidth for a period of time.

I believe your problem is because you have specified 0.1 for the refresh which is not a valid amount.
The smallest amount you can use is 0.2
Amend your formula and it should be ok.

Mark

Mark,

Thx for the quick reply.

Yes, it works OK now with 0.2 as the refresh rate. On a point of information what incremental scale is used between 1 second and 0.2 seconds, is it in 0.2 second segments?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
