Getting ahead of the queue

My main reason for employing betting software is to enhance my in running betting. I usually look to lay the field at various entry points. Simply placing the lays pre-race and ticking the "keep in running" box will not put me in a favorable position when the race goes in play. I understand that software such as Gruss can place my lays bets in running quicker than I can manually and thus leave me with a higher probability that my lays will be matched.
Do I understand this correctly and, if so, how can I utilize Gruss to do this for me to best effect?
