Premium Charge Status displayed in BA?

Postby Castillo » Sun Jul 03, 2011 11:12 pm

It is obvious that the Premium Charge is a major factor to some users using BA. At the moment the user has to wait until Tuesday to know the Premium Charge applied for the previous week.

In BA clicking the Account Tab gives the option to Calculate Data Requests Allowed. This feature gives the Commission + Implied Commission for any given day, along with each individual bet detail and the win / loss amounts etc.

Could this information be used to display in BA the ongoing Gross P&L, Commission Generated / Percentage and the resulting Premium Charge amount during the week?

If this was possible it would have to be reset each Monday morning, but it would give the user an indication of their Premium Charge status at any stage during the current week.

PS For info, the Calculate Data Requests Allowed feature doesn't seem to include AUS markets.

I have never attempted to decipher how Betfair calculate the premium charge, but I hear it's difficult to say the least. Are you able to calculate it yourself manually and come up with a reliable figure? If so can you tell me how you do it?

Never seen that Calculate Data Requests Allowed before , learn something new everyday :)

The actual calculation isn't complicated but to be completely accurate you need things like the lifetime profile from the portal which isn't available from the API plus I'd imagine a few of us have multiple accounts, the API bet history statements are limited, might not be worth the hassle

Thank Dai. I've seen that link before but, for me, it just says that I am not liable for any premium charges - no lifetime figures or how close I may or not be to paying it.

Hi Gary

Thanks for including the AUS results in BA by clicking Calculate Data Requests Allowed in the Account Tab. I use this option regularly to check my total commission generated for any given day.

It would also be very useful to have the days Total Profit/Loss displayed as well, is this possible please?

Cheers

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
