Official release lighter than beta ?

Postby Tradyann » Sun Mar 11, 2012 12:29 pm

Hello,

Just an observation :

Official (1.1.0.65z9b) seems to be lighter than latest beta.

eg. when markets are loaded in one tab (grid interface), and whan I use scroll bar, there is display distorsion.

2nd eg. when I load lots of markets (sometimes 70-80), it's long to add more... it seems normal with as much markets... but with the same number of markets, loading is faster with official release.

Maybe I can configure BA better (I have already disabled the options I did not need : eg. ladder options) ?

If anything it should be quicker. The multi market view code is different in the Beta, but is definitely not any slower on the development PC and last time tested it was faster at loading many markets. I will look into it.

There is also display distortion on the development PC when scrolling quickly, but this in no way affects how CPU intensive it is at other times. It is due to the new grid code, but only affects fast scrolling which is low priority to fix at the moment.

Hi,

Result of test with 80 markets opened, selection from QPL by "add market to current tab" :

With official release market appears immediatly in tab... not with beta (few seconds).

Gary, can you confirm that there is normally no difference (tested on the development PC) ?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
