LAYSP - [INVALID_SIZE]

Postby Happy Harry » Mon Aug 13, 2012 4:32 am

I am having trouble getting getting a series of bets to trigger using LAYSP [note not LAY-SP].

The spreadsheet loads, then triggers but no matter how I specify the Stake Size - rounded to 0 digits, rounded to 2 digits - I can not get the bets accepted. This should be the same as manually placing the bets on the Betfair Website for Liability amounts and I am able to do this manually without any problem whatsover.

I have noted before that if I am using LAY-SP bets then the calculated bet sizes have to be rounded [when being calculated rather than called up] to 2 places. If they are rounded using the excel round function to "0" places they don't work.

Any help in relation to this - perhaps it is related to the values in columns AD/AE and AH/AI.

Thanks
Happy Harry

Can you give a specific example of a market and the exact stake and odds you are specifying?

Is your liability above 20e?

yes the minimum liability is > $ 30.00 - Australian Markets.

Gary, I didn't save any of the non working sheets - tried all sorts of combinations - on Australian Markets. I will get back to it this afternoon and save one of the sheets. I occurred to me overnight to send a single LAYSP bet to the sheet via a selection from the selections field and then try and duplicate that using calculated Stake Size on the next race for a runner in the next race.

The calculations for Stake [Liability] are being done for entire races.

The answer to this issue was that the bets are processed in one batch. If any single bet on the race does not satisfy the minimum stake amount the whole lot are rejected with that error message.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
