conditional bet

Postby pneumatic » Wed Aug 22, 2012 10:06 pm

hi guys,

i'm a newie, so sorry if the answer to my question is obvious to you.

i layed a £2.50 conditional bet on a specified horse, the bet to run 10 seconds before the off at odds between 3.1 and 7.2.....

the bet appears to have been layed 5 x times??? could it be because i unticked the 'verify bet' field, which i did to save time as i wasn't in attendance?

horse won at 7/1 isp, costing me a bit of money.
just wondering why 5 x times?

regards

No, conditional bets are placed once only. We've never heard of this happening before. The verify bets option does not affect it. I'll take another look at the code but I am pretty sure there isn't a bug that would cause this.

hi gary,

thankyou for checking. i now realise it was something i did :-( , as i said i am new to this (conditional stuff) and without realing put the wrong 'trigger at' time in...around midday i entered '7:19:50' number of hours to the (1920hrs) race off when i should have put '19:19:50' - ie 10 seconds before the actual off time. presumeably because i kept re-doing it, it took each in real time as that submit time i entered (07:19:50) had already gone!

i think thats right anyway :-)

last qq please - the conditional 'maximum liability' figure entered is that for each selection in a race or collectively? eg 3 selections A, B & C in a conditional bet 'max liability' set to £75.00 ....
is that max liability £25.00 per selection or £75.00 per selection please?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
