Gary has been talking about implementing a feature which allows you to determine the results of any bet that you place through BA.

Looks like this may be the first implementation of what I believe to be an absolutely killer feature - especially for those of us who like to create spreadsheets to drive triggered betting via BA.

As far as I can see, it logs the bets that you have placed and the results of those bets onto a separate sheet in your Excel spreadsheet - thereby opening up the possibility of matching bet references to determine whether your previous bet was successful or not.

Absolutely fantastic.

Gary - well done for getting this out so quickly.

Gary

If a result is logged as RESULT_NOT_AVAILABLE is it updated to RESULT_LOST or RESULT_WON when the next event is auto-selected from the quick pick list (assuming the result has now appeared in your statement)?

Oh - forgot to ask - what does it do with bets that have been voided for some reason?

All results are queried each time a new market is selected so if the result is available next time then it will be updated.

Voided bets will also display RESULT_NOT_AVAILABLE

I can probably get it make a distinction, I'll look into it.

Bets void in Results worksheet

Postby oasiswhite » Sun Dec 23, 2012 8:18 pm

Hi Gary,

Did you make a distinction for bets void because of a race void ?

Thank you.

Regards,

Clint.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
