Anyone any news on BFSP results service outage

Postby Fixador » Fri Sep 28, 2012 1:24 pm

Has it being discontinued ? Is it a scheduled shutdown ? nothing yesterday, and so far today - nothing

An email to BF yesterday has not eluded a response as yet.

no, neither of those - thanks.

I have been accessing a php within that webpage almost since BSP started - darn useful source for end of day tidying up.

Which page are you using

http://promo.betfair.com/betfairsp/Betfairsps.htm

That one works if you just want all sp's .

I've used various pages in the past from grabbing the json fast results feed on http://sports.betfair.com/horseracing/index.html or matching winners from http://rss.betfair.com/RSS.aspx?format= ... ountryID=1 . These days I don't need the details that quick and happy to use the same as alrodopial, http://promo.betfair.com/betfairsp/prices/ and populate a database once a day.

Hi Captain,

That first link you gave - its last update was May 17th

The one I have been using is :-

http://promo.betfair.com/betfairsp/results.html

I have emailed bdp as well now.

Looking into the glass ball - do I see the need for another scraper.... darn.... I'm still 'in counselling' after rebuilding my SpL scraper -durrr !

They've changed the functionality of the page at https://promo.betfair.com/betfairsp/prices/

Like others here I populate a database with BFSP from data files on this page.

Raised a call with them and will pursue it until they return it to its previous state.

The curse of Betfair strikes again : no SP files have been added for a couple of days.

If you use these, please can you raise a support call, because otherwise I'm sure Betfair will sit on the fault for weeks as they did last time this happened?

(I've raised one myself, but feel it will be fixed much faster if they have several support calls for it).

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
