Race class

Postby mouse » Mon Jun 24, 2013 6:30 pm

Gary or captain or anyone. need help with this please.
I am trying to get race class into a cell of its own on sheet 1 to use for an excel trigger. As i know nowt about coding, and after many hours on different forums i'm trying this.
1) copy paste the list of races from sporting life into column say AA.
--useful since this has race time and class.
2) then i trimmed (1) using mid and left excel fns etc etc , so that column AB has race time only , & AC has only the class.
3) then in cell Z1 1 trimmed cell A1 to time only.

then i use this Z1 value to vlookup AB:AC so as to auto get the race class.
For some reason though it doesnt work. I get the N/A error.
I suspect its something to do with the formatting of cells. - have played around with it for hrs but i can't get it to work , so would be very grateful for any ideas.

Hi,

If you want, you can send a copy of the spreadsheet to admin@gruss-software.co.uk and I will see if I can see what's going wrong with your vlookup.

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
