Speed of RUK pictures on Virgin?

Postby gaza » Tue Feb 10, 2015 9:48 am

How do they compare to RUK on Sky? I know ATR are a couple of seconds slower on Virgin but other channels are actually quicker on cable.

Whenever I have tried, Virgin have always been slower than sky on all channels. I have tested out At the Races, RUK, Sky sports all channels, BT sport, ITV, BBC and Channel 4. Virgin is normally about 2 seconds behind.

Have you found Virgin to be faster on any channels?

Drunkenight,

ITV is about a second faster on Virgin than Sky and C5 about 3 seconds. As we said ATR is about two seconds behind on Virgin but can you confirm RUK is also about 2 seconds behind on Virgin?

Thanks that is really useful to know I will look at testing the pictures again! It is very rare that I use channel 5, but ITV is interesting especially for champions league matches.

When I last tested it, probably 5 years ago, RUK was 2 seconds behind on Virgin compared to Sky. RUK on sky is pretty good.

I have just tested my pictures on Sky and would say RUK is 2-3 seconds behind real time and At the races was 7-8 seconds behind real time. On Virgin At The Races is 9-10 seconds behind real time and unfortunately I don't have an RUK subscription for my Virgin box, so couldn't tested it.

Is there anyone else out there with RUK on Virgin? Would be interesting to know how the speed compares to Sky.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
