In later releases I will provide an option to specify where the settings are stored. The settings file is named Betting Assistant_settings.xml
You can take backup copies of this file and copy it onto other computers documents folders to use the same settings.

Hello all,

66a has just caused me to lose my preferences on all but my default profile. Gary is that basically what you said would happen? And future releases will be ok.

They should have been imported, I am investigating why not at the moment. Your old settings should still be there. As a temporary solution you can download the following executable to "C:\Program Files\Betting Assistant". This will replace the program with a version that still uses the settings from the old location.

Cheers Gary, but because my default was ok and colour codes saved it only took a couple of minutes to set my second profile back up, and likewise my football profile is mostly similar so when I next play on the football it will only take a minute....

It does take a little longer though when starting from scratch, trying to remember with so many options

I am still looking into it and have had reports from other users that this is not working so I have removed this feature for now from both the Beta and official releases. Looks like I will need to get some volunteer testers when it's ready again as I really would like to add this feature.

Will this also store all the custom column settings?

I believe I've finally done this properly. Anyone care to try it out and give feedback?

Uninstall current version using Windows control panel then re-install from link below.

On start up it will copy your settings to the AppData folder. I have added an option to the options menu to open the settings folder in Windows Explorer for convenience.

Spoke too soon. It doesn't remember new profiles if you create them at login stage. It does remember them if you add them from the profiles menu though. Good job I didn't release it.

I've uploaded a new version to the same link. Everything appears to work, but any feedback would be gratefully received. I will probably go ahead and release it in a few days anyway.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
