How to win friends and influence people - unsuspend a race due to start 10 mins hence and allow betting, then suspend it again 3 mins later. Really cool.

Same problem for Chepstow. Suddenly suspended 9 minutes before off.
There is something very wrong.

fcuk me, they've done it again with the Chepstow race. Audacious fuckers. That's really taking the piss.

16:55 (CET) Wolverhampton also suspendedn ca. 9 minutes before the off.
I do not understand why they accept bets, when they are ging to suspend the race long before the off.

Take the site offline if it' s not working FFS

An absolute disaster, I run an automatic process the bets when certain conditions are met and they lays just before the off. What I am now left with now is losing bets, the margin is small so it will take quite a bit of time to recoup todays loses.
Is there any way that excel could be made to detect a betfair crash and issue a warning? I am pretty sure I can get excel to run a program to send a text and/or email but how do I trigger it. Any suggestions?

Sorry to hear about your problems. I think the Russells are probably the best people to answer this.

Today's outage, which seems like its one of the worst they've experienced for quite a while should really worry Betfair what with Cheltenham coming up in a couple of days.

Unless they sort this out rapido there are going to be droves of people moving over to Betdaq.

Somebody at Betfair needs their balls cutting off cos today was a major fuckup.

Did anyone find any major changes to their new terms and conditions this week? The cynic in me wouldn't be surprised to find all BF liabilities reduced to zero for occasions like today in the new T&C's

Sorry BA will not inform Excel of an outage. This is something we are considering for a future release.

LOL

I think you'll find that somewhere there is a clause to say that Betfair can only take and never give.

I think we're finding that the Gekko concept of 'greed is good' isn't a truism

Blimey, still down. Five hours and counting, must be a very serious problem.

Nice that they put the site back up so you can see what you could have bet on.

The football markets are back to how they used to be. Perhaps the new site updates are just too buggy and unstable?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
