in-running liquidity is picking up a bit on Betdaq (horse racing).....it just takes a few players to get the snowball effect. I suggest all PC players give it a month on Betdaq to see if we can overthrow the tyrants.

In the meantime, you can try winning on Betdaq without losing on Betfair. Put up your offer and see if it gets matched. Unless the back/lay you put up is the highest/lowest price matched on Betkunt, you'll get matched.

so say for example you win £1000 in a week... how much would you need to churn to not pay pc ?
churn....lose 5k win 5k + £1000 profit would this be enough ?

If you have a PROFIT of £1K for the week, you would be expected to pay £400 in PC.....(Assuming you are on the 40% Rate).

You will therefore need to generate £400 of Commission/Implied Commission......

If you are on say, 3% Commission Rate, then you would need to WIN £14,000 and LOSE £13,000 to generate the £400.

Good Luck......

Have you thought about the commission free offer that Betdaq have on the first race of the day? Could this help to redistribute your winnings? For example, place a large back bet on the favourite at Betfair and lay it at Betdaq.

Why would you want to do that Drunkenight......?

If the Favourite WINS, then you have LOST a lot of Money......

Your £10K WIN at Betfair turns into £6K when Betfair Claim their 40% PC.....

Meanwhile, you have LOST 10K at Betdaq......

Good point. I was assuming that you did it everyday for the week and that you ended up roughly evens i.e. lost 3 or 4 bets on Betfair and won 3 or 4 bets on Betdaq. I guess that if you went on a long winning streak at Betfair, you could end up paying a lot in 40% PC.

so if you churn 10k win and 10k lose.... your still down %3-%5 of the churn amount due to Commission on 10k win amount £300 to £500

therefore whats the point if only making 1k a week and your pc would be £300-£400 anyway !

It's all about churning over commission to Betfair to get your overall % comms paid to over 40% 20% etc whatever your rate is

As an example say we pay 4% comms and this week we had £1500 in wins £500 in losses so our figures come in as

comms on £1500 wins = 1500 * 4% = £60
implied comms on £500 loss = 500 * 3% = £15

Betfair treat our paid comms as (60+15)/2 = £37.5

In the 40% PC bracket Betfair would take another £362.5 (£400 less implied £37.5)

Now if we win and lose an additional £10,000 our figures come out a lot healthier

comms on £11500 wins = 11500 * 4% = £460
implied comms on £10500 loss = 500 * 3% = £315

Betfair treat our paid comms as (460+315)/2 = £387.5

In the 40% PC bracket Betfair would now only take £12.5 (£400 less implied £387.5) to pay our PC bill.

Done this quickly using the figures you've quoted so may be slightly out but you get the idea

Ooopps ignore all that as you'd pay extra in that scenario :)

You're basically looking to churn over commission at break even rate + comm to not only reduce PC but also maintain a low com rate

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
