Using the Stop Loss Chase In Play | Most effective settings?

Postby stubbo79 » Fri Apr 06, 2018 10:03 am

Hi there,

I've set up a strategy that relies on an In Play Stop Loss trade close at a pre identifed price point should it get hit. To do this I'm using the fixed odds stop loss, with level loss and chase.

Knowing how volatile the odds are In Play for trying to close for a loss, and until Betfair remove the 1 second delay, is there a view on the best setting for the 'cancel and chase' time setting?

I've currently got it set to 1 second. Is it possible to set this to a sub second timing, and does anyone have any experience of what is the most appropriate or successfull setting when chasing a level loss close in play?

Secondly, I realise this setting relies on the market being loaded in BA - in the Summer when races start to overlap, is there some easy way to add all races to the Coupon view without having to do so one at a time, so that the excel sheet can move on to the next race without losing the stop loss application on the race that is still in running?

Thanks for any advice,

Stubbo.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
