What happens when two races start at the same time

Postby queej123 » Fri Jun 12, 2020 1:27 pm

Hi there,

I'm new to Gruss, just playing about in Excel at the moment putting together some simple automated trigger based betting. Everything seems very intuitive so far, but there's one situation that I'm unsure about and it is when two races are due to start at the same time - what will happen with the market auto selector / excel link? Will it just show one of them, or maybe the second race will appear underneath the first?

Sorry if I should have been able to figure this out myself - I've searched the forum and looked through the guide in the software and couldn't find what I was looking for.

I also realize this will be a very rare occurrence, not sure how often it will happen but know it's possible on very congested racing days (ie boxing day)

Cheers

The auto select will just jump to the bottom market of the two in the list.

If you want to test things or write you're own selection routines you can simply add the win and place market of a race in the list and see how it behaves.

A lot of info gets sent to excel like the time to the next race in the qpl so you can write routines to move through the markets using -1 etc in Q2

Thanks for the advice!

I also just found a tickbox in the settings which allows you to stagger conflicting start times by 30 seconds, I think that will sort me out as well

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
