I've noticed the Betfair Charges is now updated to include the 5000 per hour limit. There examples of charges are as follows....

Example::
You are a Betfair Exchange user who pays commission generated of £2.10 throughout a given day.
However, between the hours of 14:00:00 and 14:59:59 you placed 4800 bets and recorded 3400 failed transactions, between the hours of 15:00:00 and 15:59:59 you placed 2250 bets and recorded 4200 failed transactions, but in other hours you recorded less than 5000 transactions. Your base transaction charge is (4800+3400-5000) X £0.002 + (2250+4200-5000) X £0.002 = £9.30.
Therefore you will be billed an additional £9.30-£2.10 = £7.20 on the following day.

Does Betting Assistant at the moment only record bets placed and not failed transactions?

Cheers

Yes, only bets placed as there wasn’t a need before. We shall be releasing an update on Monday to reflect the latest changes.

It seems ok here. What is the payout for bets counted as one transaction? eg. £0.50 at 100 odds is £50 and can be placed in one transaction because it is £10 or over.

Apologies Gary, I was always under the impression that any bet below £2 at any odds would count as 2 transactions.

I've just tested a bet of £0.02 at odds of 500 (Payout £9.98) is 2 transactions, but a bet of £0.02 at odds of 510 (Payout £10.18) is 1 transaction so as you've explained it's depending on the payout being below or above £10 (Sorry again for any confusion, at least I've learnt something new today !!!!)

Thanks

I was curious so I placed some bets while a market was suspended, they showed on the log as market suspended but did not add any transactions to the count. Do these count towards transaction charges? should they show on the count?

Thanks.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
