Hi Gary/Mark
Many thanks for the Conditional Bets feature, an excellent addition to the program.

Agreed. Great concept!

Couple of questions though: once a bet is active, does it transcend all suspension notices until the market is closed?

Also (and i'm probably being a bit thick here) but what is the difference, between 'the last price matched' and the back/lay price please?
I.E. why 3 criterion as opposed to 2 (back & lay).

Cheers.

Hi Filo
Pleased that you also value this new feature.
Not sure about your first point, Gary or Mark will obviously clarify that.
There is a definite advantage in having 'last price matched' option :-

If you have got a Lay bet and have set up a Conditional Back bet as a Stop Loss, and 'in-running' the odds are falling so as to trigger the stop loss, the 'last matched' odds will be either Back or Lay, and in some cases it will be a Lay bet (higher odds ) last matched, which means you are stopped out of the bet at higher odds which can be a real advantage in containing a loss.

Hope you can follow my explanation.

Has the problem that there was with the alpha version been sorted ? This was where the program "topped" it own price, if you, say, laid at best back price + 1 tick.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
