Greening up at a price

Postby stebbo » Thu May 08, 2008 2:07 pm

Hi All,

apologies if this has been asked before, but is it possible from within the BA interface (ie without a linked excel sheet) to put in a request which automatically distributes any projected profit across all contingencies?

For example, let's say I've layed a horse at $6.00 and I've layed it for $10.

Now I want to fire in an order to back that same horse at, say $6.50 and have BA automatically calculate the stake required to distribute the profit evenly.

If not, is there an easy way to calculate this? I should be able to do this myself but am a little hazy with the laying and commission aspect in there as well.

I know I can green up if I'm sitting there with BA and the price hits the desired price, but I would like to put in an order at any desired price and have it sitting there in the betfair queue.

Cheers,
Chris.

Not possible at the moment, your best bet is just using the tick offset feature as that'll send the correct greening up take and fire an offset et as soon as the original bet is matched

Thanks Captain,

looks like I need to swot up on the tick offset feature.

Cheers,
Chris.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
