What do these CELLS do?

Postby thunderfoot » Wed May 14, 2008 1:03 pm

Just started using Betting Assistant, but am unclear as to what some features in EXCEL do.

Winners (Cell E3)
Exposure (Cell L2)
Trans (Cell N2)
Refresh Rate (Cell Q2)

I think I've sorted 'Refresh Rate', in that you can set the Refresh Rate in this cell to feedback to Betting Assistant, so that as you get nearer the 'off' in a Horse Rate you can reduce this right down using an EXCEL formula. Assume entering 1 in this cell would equate to 1 second, 2 = 2 seconds etc.

Winners: Number of possible winners, eg. place market with 3 places = 3, win market always = 1

Exposure: Your current exposure, refreshed at the same time as the balance.

Trans: The number of transactions (anything producing a new bet ref, ie. bet placements or bet updates) in the current hour, eg. 9.00 - 10.00, 11.00 to 12.00 etc. Betfair charge your 1 pence per transaction that exceeds 1000 in each hour so you can use this cell to monitor your transactions.

Refresh rate: Exactly as you say.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
