How to get 80 bets from Excel on to Betfair

Postby brotherjoe » Thu May 07, 2009 11:01 am

Ok manually is one option,
but I note the talk about Excel triggered betting and wondered if it includes actually uploading the bets from Excel straight on to Betfair.

Thanks

brotherjoe,

Not sure what you mean by uploading straight to betfair?

What the excel interface in BA does is place your bets automatically with betfair based on the conditions you have set in your triggers. So, theoritically, if you have got your triggers right, excel will automatically place your bets to betfair through BA without any intervention from you.

Hi Danjuma,

I take it BA is betting assistant (I'm not to hot with this stuff)

My selections are currently stored in excel each morning and I have the fun task of manually putting them all onto Betfair around lunchtime.

I just wondered if this software would take them all and get them onto the Betfair system for me at a time of my choosing, even if it put all my backs up at 999/1 and my lays at 1.01 so I just had to alter the odds manually .

How hard would it be to do that?

It's quite easy, and no need to adjust your odds manually, you can enter it all via excel. There is a similar thread on the "Help" board right now.

brotherjoe,

Yes BA is betting Assistant.

Assuming I understand what you what to do, it does not seem difficult. One way of going about it is:

1. After opening BA, select the races you are interested in into the 'Quick pick list'.

2. Assuming you want the bets to be paced at a specific time before the scheduled off time, on the top most tabs, select Market > Auto select markets > At specific time before off, and input how minutes before the off you want the market auto selected.

3. Open a spreadsheet, and assuming you will be logging the info from BA starting from cell A1, you will contruct your triggers in column Q, and input the required odds and stakes in columns R and S respectively.

What BA will now do in conjunction with your spreadsheet, is automatically select a race at your preselected time, and trigger your bets if the conditions you have set are met, and at the odds and stakes you have indicated.

Obviously, to set up your spreadsheet and the triggers, you have to have an understanding of writing excel formulae, or you could read through the posts in this forum or ask for help.

Cheers.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
