Over ride Odds Option , How does it work ?

Postby BENNY97 » Thu Sep 24, 2009 1:58 am

Can someone tell me how the overide odds option works , as i thought it worked by placing a bet 1 tick in front on the odds you click on thereby getting your bet matched instantly , this would be ideal for trading when the odds change very quickly and you end up chasing the price trying to get matched but i have had override odds ticked on Betting assistant and it doesn't seem to do anything, could someone explain to me how to get it to work or is it for something else entirely ?
Thanks

I believe it just overides the odds actually being offered. So if there is money on the back side at odds of 10.0, you can set the back odds to 5.0, tick override odds and you will fire a position into the market at 5.0 rather than 10.0

osknows is correct. To add a number of ticks to each bet you need to use the "Offset requests" feature. View the user guide via the help menu and read about this under "Betting Options".

Yes the ”override odds” can be extremely useful in fast moving markets, like towards the end of a horse race. You can set your min BACK, max LAY, and you will take whatever is available down/up to your preset odds.

Was you aware you can also click (and take up/down to that price) on “ANY” of the 3 back and lay columns.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
