Trading Triggers/Modifiers

Postby thunderfoot » Wed Oct 21, 2009 8:32 pm

Looking at the Triggers and Trigger Modifiers and need a bit of help.

Scenario:- Betfair shows BACK odds of 6.00; Lay Odds of 6.40

I will place a BACK bet at 6.60 for £1 if there is between 20 & 60 seconds to go before the scheduled off. No MATCH = no further bet. If MATCHED then I want to place a LAY bet at 6.00 for £1. If MATCHED with 5 seconds to go to the scheduled off then :D .

a) If the LAY bet is UNMATCHED with 5 seconds to go then I want to place a LAY bet at whatever LAY odds are available.
or
b) if the LAY odds drift to, say 4 ticks above the 6.60 BACK odds leading up to the 5 seconds before the off (i.e. 7.40 LAY odds) then I want to place a LAY bet at those odds - i.e. that's my stop loss!!

Best case scenario, it looks as if I need to use BACK-F40-TL3 to place the initial bet, but I'm struggling to work out what I need for a) &/or b).

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
