Timed Trigger?

Postby vilnius » Sat Oct 31, 2009 12:24 pm

Hi All

A simple question to which I hope there is a simple answer, could anyone please enlighten me on how to place a triggered bet at a pre defined time using excel?

Cheers

You can always use the cells C2 or D2 and then use IF statement in the Trigger Column (Q).

Thanks Thunder, If, say I wanted to back a horse ten minutes before the off in the 1400 at Beverley at say odds of 4.0 with a £2 stake and leave it in play I can do all this except the timing, how do i incorporate the timing into the trigger with an IF? would it be somnething like IF-C2>13:50:00-BACK-IP and would I just put my required odds in the R column?

All I really need is a Conditional bet that can go IP

Cheers

Put the following formula in cell Z1.
Code: Select all
=IF(LEFT(D2)<>"-",(HOUR(D2)*3600)+(MINUTE(D2)*60)+SECOND(D2),-((HOUR(SUBSTITUTE(D2,"-",""))*3600)+(MINUTE(SUBSTITUTE(D2,"-",""))*60)+SECOND(SUBSTITUTE(D2,"-",""))))

It calculates the number of seconds until the start.

You can then use something like =if(z1<=600,"BACK","")

Not as simple as I thought it might be then!

Thanks for the replies anyway

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
