Refresh rate from excel

Postby alrodopial » Thu Nov 05, 2009 7:26 pm

Hi everyone,

My answer about refresh rate with an example:
I set the refresh rate at 30 secs and I want this to change into 5 secs one minute before the official off (smaller refresh rate close to the off). So I place 30 or 5 in Q2 lets say with a macro.
An update was done at 1:15 before the off (75 secs), next update is 45 secs before the off and all the others I want them to be done every 5 secs.
BA will refresh correctly at 1:15 and 45 secs but after this it will update after another 30 secs (at 15 sec before off) and then every 5 secs. That's because BA gets the value from Q2 directly, without 'letting' excel perform any calculation (from macros or formulas). My logic tells me that It should have let excel calculate the new value in Q2 and then use this new value.
How can anyone bypass this 'problem' ?
Is there a 'technical' problem and you were 'forced' to adapt this approach?

Thanks

I run a few bots outside gruss and sync them using the current time. Couldn't you do much the same by sticking an if statement in your macro for when the refresh falls between between 1:31 and 1:00 to force the refresh to land on 1:00 ie if the last refresh landed on 1:25 the new refresh would set to 25seconds 1:15 15 seconds etc

This could be a way, with IF statements before the point you want.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
