horse form

Postby ninelifecat » Fri Nov 20, 2009 10:01 am

hi
how do I get the horses form into Excel using BA? I have the "form" check box selected on the "Log current prices" scren, and when I hover the mouse over each horse in BA i can see this info, but it's not showing in Excel.
Is there any way to make it do this?
thanks

If that is the only extra column you have ticked then it should appear in column Y of the spreadsheet. I notice you are using ver 1.1.0.62. There is a bug which affects logging to multiple worksheets when you try to log to one sheet with the column ticked and another without it ticked. Could that be your problem?

Try upgrading to the latest Beta and see if you have the same problem.

Sorry, I should also have mentioned that the extra columns are only available if you have ticked Enable triggered betting

hi
I'm now having the same problem with BA 1.1.0.63z on Windows 7, ie the trainer and horse form don't show up in Excel despite the boxes being ticked.
The same version of BA works perfectly on my XP laptop...
any help appreciated
thanks

It has to be your settings.

1) Have you got "Enabled triggered betting ticked" when you set up the Excel link?

2) Can you see the jockey colours when you view the grid in Betting Assistant? If you haven't got this column enabled the information will not be available to Excel. In the grid interface preferences tick "Show silks" under "Display columns"

Yes the show silks setting is on... triggered betting is enabled.
but resulting Excel spreadsheet still has a blank for the
form, days since last run = 0, and jockey, trainer, and age/weight are blank too.
I'm in the process of setting up a virtual xp machine, I don't think I'll be able to reproduce the problem there but I'll let you know.

Strange. You could try upgrading to the latest Beta. See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... php?t=3922

I'll do that tomorrow.
Is there an easy way to port the BA config from my laptop (which has BA working perfectly) to another machine?
I'm OK with exporting registry keys etc if thats what it takes.
cheers

There isn't a way at all unless you upgrade your laptop to the latest Beta version 1.1.0.66a. You can then copy the settings folder from your laptop's documents folder. See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4610

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
