Multiple lay bets

Postby shadow » Tue Jun 06, 2006 3:21 am

Hello Gary and everyone

Is it possible to place multiple lay bets, all at the same pre set odds of my choice.

A bit like "Lay field" but i dont want to always lay the whole field, so is there any way of setting the "Lay field" to verify bets, so i can eliminate any runners i dont want to lay

Thanks for any help

I'd suggest you enter your stake and odds you want to lay at in the appropriate fields in the top left hand corner,
click lay field and then cancel those you don't want in the submitted bets window.
This works fine if you're laying to small odds, as they likelyhood of getting matched before you cancel is low
and even if you did, you don't lose much if the result goes against you.

Thanks Obias

The reason i was asking was because i quite often lay the field at evens or higher as the race goes in-play, but obviously i need to eliminate short priced favs.

I have got Garys Betfair scripts (thanks Gary) downloaded, but they only work on ie6 and ace explorer, which i find slower than a tortoise with piles at Betfair. Its just a pity they dont work with firefox or any way of doing it with the trader, and i havnt a clue wih Excell.

But thanks again Obias.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
