Is it possible to disable Excel logging?

Postby Bid » Tue Feb 16, 2010 4:07 pm

What I'm currently doing is automatically setting the quick pick list, scrolling through each market and deleting the ones that don't meet my criteria. then returning to the first in the list before moving to the next page and repeating.

Sometimes, however, none of the markets will meet the criteria and the quick pick list will be empty. When this happens though, what had been the last market in the list is still being logged in Excel. This is obviously not ideal, leaving me agonisingly close to a fully automated system.

Is there a way of temporarily disabling the Excel logging from one page only or maybe selecting a blank market? Thinking about the blank market solution would be preferable

Thanks!

There isn't, but you could set the refresh rate in cell Q2 to 999. It will then only update every 16 minutes until the market closes.

That's a shame.

16 minutes wouldn't be enough as it's a football match and it'll still go in-play.

Can I ask it to open a market through market id from Excel? Maybe to a market that has already closed?

You could do, but you would need to know the market id. It's not a very elegant solution.

What would be the impact of the market still being open? Can't you just get it to ignore the refreshes? Otherwise you'll have to leave it with me and I will implement the blank market option.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
