Multiple UPDATE Triggers

Postby kiint » Mon Mar 01, 2010 4:52 pm

Hi all,
Long time lurker here.
Have been using this brilliant tool for a while now trying to automate various betting systems that may break even one day.
This morning I made a quick change to my code to place an UPDATE trigger when a race goes in runnig and then shot off to work.. Problem is that I forgot to set a flag to stop it being placed on subsequent refreshes.
Now, I've effectively stopped the whole thing running by transferring out all funds into my Aus wallet but I was wondering what the impact would have been if I had let it run. Would BA happily keep placing updates to a matched bet or does it check first and only do the update if there is unmatched money there. I ask as potentially I could have gone over the 1000 bet ph limit which could have got expensive.

Many thanks.

It will check if there is an unmatched bet first and will not attempt the update if one doesn't exist. In the case of unmatched bets it checks if the current requested odds match the odds in column R and if they are the same it will not trigger an update.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
