First attempts with Excel

Hi all,

I am just starting to use excel with BA. Are there any help files on this anywhere?

I have managed to get a BACK bet triggered using IF statements for criterias, however, I now want to move on to laying a bet once the BACK has been matched to lock in a small profit. How would I go about this? I am proficient in using excel (not VBA). Can you help?

Try doing a forum search for CLEAR and you will come up with a way of doing what you want.

Look at the sample triggered betting files, they will give you guidance.

For anything specific just ask.

The main problem is that you'll have to have conditions in your formula for when to say "BACK", "LAY", "WAIT", and "CLEAR". I'm not even sure if it's possible. If you want to make an equal profit on all runners then you'll also need a formula in your stake column, which unless you manually type the details of your bet somewhere else on the sheet, will have no info to work with once the CLEAR command has been used.

I know it sounds daunting, but you are so much better off trying to learn a little bit of vba, it makes it so much easier. If you have any coding experience either with a scripting language or any form of BASIC you'll pick it up easily. Even if you haven't it's not difficult to learn and there are lots of people here who can help - especially if you're willing to learn.

I wasn't aware that there was a "WAIT" trigger. How long does it wait?

Just need to add a few extra if/and statements. I have one that just decides to green up by lay or back dependant on the profit loss column. You can kick off clear if say the matched stake is a certain amount or some other criteria

=IF(AND(stakematch>0, betref>1),"CLEAR",O4) O4 would just contain some other calcs deciding whether to say lay or back.

Or to make things simpler just open the market in another tab and have that pointing at separate calcs on say sheet2

There isn't a "WAIT" trigger, it was just an example of something that won't trigger the original BACK. You could use any word(s) or leave it blank, whatever you do now is ok.
