Checking for unmatched bets

Postby joe lively » Fri Apr 09, 2010 2:00 pm

Hi all, Gary, I'm using the special trggers to scroll through the next days quick pick list looking for new markets and placing bets. Once at the end I use -3.1t to refresh the list and start again. By the way I appreciate your recent help on this.

To make sure ba doesn't place bets in any markets where it already has I use the mybets sheets to check for any umatched bets. However occasinally this appears to be failing.

Is it possible that there is a split second difference between the market sheet loading and mybets loading. This would give enough time to cause my triggers in the market sheet to fire thinking there were no bets already placed when in fact there is. All my bets are unmatched.

Is there a better way to check for umatched bets in a market?

Thanks

You might be better off using VBA to copy the marketID to a static sheet and stick a flag against it once the bets have been placed rather than relying on the refreshes to pull up any data as any blips with your connection might cause it to fire.

Hi Captain, thanks for that, I had thought about copying the bet refs but using the market id is a much better idea.

I'm sure my vba skills can stretch to that.

I'll give that a try

Cheers.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
