Soccer Mystic

Postby jenko1973 » Sun Jul 25, 2010 10:47 am

Just a question i have always used Gruss and I think it is the best out there for what i want to do although any tips on how to trade better would be welcomed.

I notice that there is a question about data below and obviously understanding data will give you a far greater understanding of the markets and where you can make 5%-10%.

A competitor of Gruss has come up with Soccer Mystic which will show you the way the market reacts after an event has happened a goal for example.

Are there any plans for Gruss to look at a data tool or some product to help us predict the market swings like soccer mystic?

Thanks for taking the time to read

I think they offer it free now.... A big song and dance was made when Soccer mystic launched (I should know because I bought it  ) - I was really disappointed with it as it didn't really do anything apart from state the obvious and usually at least approx 20% out in terms of accuracy of prices. Also it never really compensated properly when a favorite went behind early in a game that they were likely to win anyway. Things may have improved since then but I thought it laughable this orignally sold for approx £200 per annum

And also, this thread http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... sc&start=0

has some examples to allow you to collect your own data which can be used analyse market conditions and prices

Thank you for this information.

I am trying to see what the markets do after an event to try and maximise my trades.

Soccer Mystic i thought might have helped!!1

I have tried to look at those links and they are out of date.

I am trying to find a database that will let me interagate race tracks odds distances etc

So I could find that for example Chepstow 6f races has on average two horses who hit 1.5 in trading.

I know this is probably the golden egg, but still the quest goes on.

Trying to pinch £5-£10 out of every race when they trade over half a million is my aim.

If anyone can help it would be much apprciated.

Second question can anyone recommend a good trading course to help me as well.

Thanks

Betfair list limited price data http://promo.betfair.com/betfairsp/prices/

Field IPMIN would highlight what you need, however the data is limited and doesn't reveal how the prices moved. There are other sources which have timestamped prices but the data has a price.

Minimum price placed in-play (only bets of a payout of more than GBP100 included)

There's a key to the data on the link above

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
