New Betfair Design

Postby osknows » Thu Feb 17, 2011 5:21 pm

What are peoples thoughts on Betfair's new market page design?

I personally think it's a step backwards. Too big, dumbed down and no refresh buttons. Also will they ever get rid of that pain in the arse advert for instant games or at least give an option to turn it off?

Feel sorry for anyone viewing on a small screen laptop :)

I never get the advert for instant games but that could be because I excluded myself from all that crap.

I'm not seeing anything different to the market screen I always get ?

I also never get the adverts as I have excluded myself from games and casino.

It might just be the football markets that are affected. Click on the team names to see the full market and score rather than an individual market

I did not like the new setup for football.

I like it when there was a video feed on the prices page. I would watch the game, read the play and which team was dominating or not and could see the prices all at the same time.

Now the site opens the video feed webpage and you have to keep flicking back to the prices.
I like to see the graphs of the price movement. You cannot access these from the general page and have to go to the full market view. So I end up with two or three pages open. I am getting used to this but the system was not broken in the first place.

I like the time line on the page with the goals and cards. You can see better what has happened in the game if you have come to it part way through.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
