Delay imposed by Betfair

This topic may have been covered before but the delay imposed in bets on in play football matches is crazy.
The over 20 second delay means that there are stages during the game I place a bet and before it is taken the odds have changed.

Has Betfair ever explained why this huge delay is imposed?

As far as I know 20 seconds isn't imposed on any market. Are you sure you aren't getting a false impression due to the way that below minimum bets are processed? See http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... php?t=3363

The 24 second delay probably is due to a low stake bet. I have been playing around with the software using lower liabilities so I expect this is what is going on.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software


The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.
