Back SP

Postby wema9247 » Tue Mar 29, 2011 10:19 am

Hi,

is it possible to back at SP with a specified possible winning chance? For example I would like to back an amount at SP to win 100. Like it is done for Lay at SP with a specified liability.

Thanks for help!

Hi wema9247 :)

would it work for you as described here:
http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5234&highlight=liability+payout+stake

I would also like to see something like you describe simply by clicking the
"Staking mode" header to cycle through Stake - Liability - Payout and Target (new option)
Or adapt the "Payout" to work with backing the same way as it works with "Liability" or laying?

I am sure Gary will understand - whether we get it or not remains to be seen,
it usually depends on if other users support it too?

All the best - Michael  [/b]

I'm afraid you cannot specify a target profit for BACK SP bets. It would mean Betfair would have to calculate your stake when they reconcile the SP bets. They don't offer that facility. The best you can do is calculate the required stake as close to the off as possible and place the bet then.

Thanks for your answers!
It's like I've suspected. Probably it is because of the minimum stake of 2. If I want to back a horse at SP to win a specific amount it might be that my stake would be less than 2, so betfair do not accept those bets...

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
