cant open Visual basic editor

Postby guayanes » Fri Dec 30, 2011 4:19 pm

this is not precisely a Gruss software problem but here it goes. I got this VPS Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit Desktop and I want to place bets through it using Bet Assist i downloaded Bet Assist to it ,run and it works fine. the problem begun when I tried to use my Macros enabled spreadsheets. I cannot even upload macros enabled spreadsheets to them(*.xslm) . Excel wont recognize them. Tried to start from scratch but the Visual Basic Editor shows grayed out so I cannot evn open it and I wont let me open any Macros or use any Macros for that matter. The hosting company tells me I have root access and I can install anything buy dont offer any help. I use Garys Time of Race start VBA Code in my sheets so I need VBA access but MIcrosoft Excel 2010 combined with Server wont let me. The very same setup runs fine at home Windows 7. Have tried everything I found in the NET to no avail. I dont know what to do HEEEELP :( :(

I can't see a reason why macros aren't working.. Have you enable macros in excel...? what message you get from excel when you try to run the macro?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
