IR Delay In Place Bets Excel Workbook ?

Postby dogform » Tue Feb 07, 2012 4:12 pm

Hi,

Can anyone please tell me what the value represents in cell L3 of the Gruss Place Bets excel workbook, this cell is adjacent right to cell K3 which contains a label "IR Delay"

Does the cell K3 provide visibility of the In-Play delay in seconds set by Betfair for that specific market and liable to change for soccer, horse racing tennis etc?

Typo, I should have referred to cell L3.

Does the cell K3 provide visibility of the In-Play delay in seconds set by Betfair for that specific market and liable to change for soccer, horse racing tennis etc?

Hi,

Yes it does, i.e. it will be 0 when not in play and between 1 and 9 for "In Play" markets

Regards,
Mark

Mark,

Thx for the reply.

Would you happen to have any details of the sports and markets where the values of 1 to 9 are assigned (straight win markets)?

It varies, there is no list. In general though it's always 1 second for horse racing and 5 seconds or more for all other sports. Not all soccer matches are 5 seconds, some are 8 for example, but it's not possible to know this until after kick off because Betfair don't make this information available.

It also makes no difference if straight win market or not. The in play delay is applied if you can bet in play so the same delay will apply to all in play markets for a soccer match, for example match odds, over/under 2.5 goals etc.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
