Heres my attempt at a RACE TIMER.

Postby brumbie » Sun Feb 26, 2012 5:17 am

Having my first attempt at a Race Timer, the Racing Posts standard times for each track, supplied by TheBluesBrother from the Racing Forum, have been mangled and molested in an attempt to cope with the fact that Betfair don't seem to put up 1/2 furlongs etc in their headers.

I have not adjusted to the july course at newmarket yet although i suppose i could and also there is a simple adjustment required on the sheet when at lingfield on the "turf flat".Otherwise, give it a go and let me know where it lets us down...thanks guys.download here:

Its becoming obvious with longer distances that the times are as far out as the average weed smoker. These times are based on Mr Ed running over good ground so if anyone has an idea of allowances for ground, class etc would be greatly appreciated. On a brighter note a lot of them are near perfect and the shorter distances are quite accurate.

Just an addition here,i deliberately left the formats open and bare on the sheet so it could easily be seen how it was formatted and possibly customised to suit.It is basic without any vba.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
