Betfair video

Postby doris_day » Tue Jul 17, 2012 3:05 pm

Personally I think its a total fucking joke that after paying over a hundred grand in commission over the years, I cant watch a horse race on Betfair's video without making a bet on that particular race.

Doesn't need to be a matched bet though, Doris.

Is that true always though ? I've placed bets before that were unmatched and didn't get to watch the video. Other times its worked. I just think its a bit insulting to even be asked.

BF video is a law unto itself sometimes doesn't even work when you've matched bets :o

I only found out a year ago it didn't need matched bets  but never had any problems soley due to the bet not being matched. Yep ut is a pain but most bookies won't let you watch their feeds without matching a bet first so it's surprise Betfair let you watch just for placing a bet which I suppose confirms for them it's from people using funded accounts rather than freeloaders.

How much comm you paid doesn't seem to hold much sway with bf doris, now if you were a regular super slots player you might get your own account manager

As of today BF appear to have moved the goal posts.

Previously I could put a lay bet in on a big outsiders at 1.01 for £2.
Get the video running and then cancel it.

Now it appears the bet must be matched.

Does BF actually think we are just watching the races without betting.
I bet in running. I want to see the horses perform and then I bet.
Now I can't see the horses.
This is just plain stupid.

Of course I'm banned from the forum so I can't complain on the forum as if that would make any difference anyway.

My sympathies are with you but as I have said before...

Betfair will not be in the slightest bit bothered - my experience is that they are a law
unto themselves and will do exactly as they please with their service and customers.

Good luck - Michael

Put Liability $5 LAY bet before race on any horse with the option that it is removed when race starts. That way you'll watch any race, since that bet will never be matched.

The BF video is not miles behind.

It does fluctuate a bit.
I have timed it to 1.5 seconds behind the SIS.
Some days it seems quicker, some days not.

It depends on how you are betting in running.
If you are reading the race, how the horses are running, it does not matter that much. The difference however is in the price you can get.
The quicker the feed the better the price.

I am putting a backing bet in at the lay price for £1
As soon as it is taken I bang in a lay at that price for £1.

Sure, there are always ways round but my argument is that I shouldn't need a work round

That has really surprised me Sixgun, 1.5 seconds behind SIS is quite impressive, although that does equate to approximately 7 1/2 lengths on the flat! With technology I wonder how quick these feeds could become in the future?

Absolutley.
But what winds me up even more is when you have bets all over the place on a race and then it still insists on telling you that you need a bet on the race and then also randomly switching the feed off to tell you that you need a bet on the race. Even more annoying when it happens in-running. :x

I don't think a day goes by that there isn't a problem with the BF racing video.
Now they want £5 of bets on a race to see a video that often times does not work.
This Sunday it is all to cock.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
