MyBets worksheet in Excel

Postby Frinck » Fri May 02, 2008 3:25 am

Hi all,

Have been playing with the MyBets worksheet in Excel tonight and have stumbled across something that may or may not be working as intended...

First of all, I setup one tab in BA and output this to Excel. I created a MyBets worksheet and then, from Excel, I tiggered a four different bets. These were logged correctly on the MyBets sheet just fine on the following refresh.

I then created a 2nd tab in BA outputting to a new worksheet in the same workbook. Again I placed a trade through Excel and expected to see it appended to the MyBets sheet.

However, this didn't quite happen. The first four bets from my first sheet were logged ok, but the last trade from the 2nd sheet appeared briefly (a split second) in row 2 before being overwritten by the first trade made from sheet 1. I was left with my four trades from sheet 1, whilst the one bet from sheet 2 ends up not being shown. This process happens for each refresh.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Cheers,
Frinck.

I queried this, Frinck. Gary replied that it only works with one tab at the moment but will look at improving it in the future.

If you log each race to a separate workbook each with its own MyBets worksheet you will be ok

Hi,

I use only one sheet in Excel to trigger my bets. When I am betting on 2 or 3 markets, all my bets are updated in the MyBets sheet. When I am betting on more markets, I noticed that the bets in the MyBets sheet are replaced by each other, since there are maximum 11 bets displayed. The problem is that when I have bets on many markets and that there are maximum 11 bets displayed, some bets are not displayed at all, or only a split second. Is this intended te be so?

regards,
Mike

Ian, do you mean one market by one tab (one market = one tab)?

Mike, I think Gary said you can only successfully log bets from the first tab/page, not sure what happens if you have two or three markets in that tab.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
